Hey, All Gosh, I had really hoped to make a newsletter that would appeal to homeschoolers on a person-to-person level. I really do believe what it says above, that we must all hang together... Especially on a day like today--election day. It's early; I don't know what the outcome will be. But I do know that whatever the outcome is, nothing can change my eternity. It is my prayer that each one of you would have the same assurance for yours. Anyway, I just haven't gotten the input from homeschoolers like I needed in order to make this work. In order to highlight homeschoolers in this place, I have to hear from homeschoolers. And I've exhausted all my willing contacts--already. Of course, I had also hoped to make it a resource page from which you could look up homeschool resources, etc. It's unfortunate that I just don't have time to research out a lot of those on a monthly basis. I always marvel at the homeschool moms/families who have this incredible output of books, materials, website updates, products, you-name-it, all while still actually accomplishing their homeschooling. How do they do that? But maybe I'm asking too much of myself. I mean, we do keep goats and chickens and manage a large garden. That, along with homeschooling, bookkeeping for my husband's business, and my main website that I TRY to update regularly, maybe that's enough. Is it? I don't know. But I did want to make this work. And I'm sorry for the sakes of those of you who have visited and read each month that I have no one else to introduce to you. |

Of course, I'm certainly not opposed to continuing onward if any of you would like to be featured here. Just email me. It's totally up to you how much or how little is shared and what contact info you give out. I had just hoped that perhaps in these introductions someone, somewhere might meet another person they felt they could identy with. Someone to talk to--or email--when needed. A lifeline in case they were feeling like homeschooling was too hard. Don't we all feel something along those lines occasionally? For me, it's Mondays when my second son is struggling to get back into the swing of things after a WHOLE TWO DAYS off. It's every Monday. And I think about facing eight more years of that and I get a little, well, overwhelmed. That's when it'd be nice to talk to someone who's either figured out a good way to deal with that problem or who can just listen and empathize with what I'm going through. Don't you have moments like that? Anyway, I'm going to post this now, and you can consider it to be the final post, unless I hear from anyone who'd like to be featured. I wish you all the homeschooling best and hope that you will find a circle of friends and confidantes who can help to keep you sane and on course. TTYL? Chantal |
