TO PARTICIPATE:

2009 saw mixed success for the North Fairfield Farmers' Market.  Weather wasn't always cooperative, and a few vendors gave up because of it.  I believe that it can be successful--and truthfully any market that brings people together, helping growers to sell and consumers to purchase, is a good thing.  If you are interested in seeing a market in North Fairfield, please contact the village council via their website for permission to set it up.  They were very friendly and easy to work with in 2009.

Here were our requirements, to help get you started:

There is no fee; you will be required to sign a Release of Liability Form.  Bring your own tables, chairs, and any other necessary items, such as coolers, change, and tents for shade.  Produce, baked goods, hand-crafted items, and flowers and bedding plants are accepted.  Eggs are not allowed by law due to lack of proper refrigeration facilities.

REQUIREMENTS FOR BAKERS:

Baked goods which do not require refrigeration are allowed.  Home-canned jams and jellies are allowed.  Other home-canned goods are not allowed.  If you have other questions regarding the Ohio Cottage Industry Law, this site has a good synopsis.
